1.1 Identification Of the Problem or Issue in The Health and Social Care Sector:

The health and social care sector plays an integral part in raising the quality of life and offering the necessary services to individuals of all ages. The most important issue faced by the health and social sector is the higher demand for Mental Health Services, especially in Young People, that risen dramatically in recent years. Anxiety, stress, depression, and self-harm are the key conditions that cause mental health problems among individuals.

I have chosen this topic to focus on “mental health for young adults in the United Kingdom. This health and social care issue represents the light of the pandemic and exacerbates the education about the future. There is a need for improving mental health support in the entire demographic that helps to continue the escalation, creating a significant challenge for health or social care professionals.

1.2 Research Rationale: Why Choose This Topic?

I have selected this topic of the mental health service for young adults due to multiple reasons. First of all, mental health crises are one of the most significant issues in the healthcare sector that affect various young people in the global environment. The mental health conditions partially young people have can affect their education as well as social functioning activities.

I felt that mental health conditions can lead to a higher range of health as well as social care problems, like substance abuse, long-term unemployment for the young generation during a pandemic, and suicide. Secondly, I evaluate that mental health services for young people are overstressed, and this leads to long waiting times with inadequate treatment. Various mental health professionals who are trained to address the needs of young people directly addressed the continuity of the barrier to seeking help.

1.3.KWL Frameworks Justification for Research:

The KWL is a framework or tool that is used to evaluate and organize the process of research. The frameworks will help to just the proper needs for conducting the research through highlighting the gaps in the current knowledge, and maintaining the importance of further exploration through the research will contribute to addressing the gaps.

I know that mental health problems among young people are raises. Mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, stress, and eating disorders are common conditions. In the UK, mental health issues in young people have increased and become a top concern for the government as well as healthcare providers.

1.3.2.      What I Want to Know:

I want to evaluate why mental health services for young people are so insufficient and what types of barriers exist to accessing the care. The research will focus on the understanding of gaps in the current mental health services and social stigmas.

1.3.3.      What I Have Learned:

I have led various organizations, like Mental Health charities and the NHS, which recognized the gaps and improved the services. There is a need for more targeted interventions that target young people and mental health services for education to reduce the stigmas.

2.1.Overview of Quantitative and Qualitative Research:

In the research study, two types of research methodologies help to manage the operations and find accurate data. Quantitative research and qualitative research are these types. The approaches are distinctive and serve various purposes, or the broad methods of data collection

2.1.1.      Quantitative Research:

Quantitative Research involves the collection and analysis of numerical data that is used to measure the clear extent of the phenomena and test the entire hypotheses. The quantitative data can be measured through surveys, questionnaires, and key experiments.

The main focus of quantitative data is to quantify the main problems and use statistical techniques the draw entire conclusions that help to meet the operational concerns. For Instance, the contact of mental health might use the survey to measure the prevalence of mental health disorders in a certain age group to analyze the data.

2.1.2.      Qualitative Research:

Qualitative Research focuses on the understanding of broad experiences, meanings, and entire perspectives. The research approach is typically subjective, with the AI enhancing the deeper insights regarding the social phenomena. Qualitative research is useful for collecting published and useful information that has already been done in the past.

When the researcher wants to understand the “why and how” of a particular issue, then this research approach is effective. For Example, in studying the mental health of young people, qualitative research could involve reinterviews with the young people or the professionals of mental health to understand the views on the entire service, qualitative and accessibility, with the analysis of barriers to care.

2.2.Research Methodology Chosen: Qualitative Research:

The Mental Health Services for the Young is the study that I have selected to use qualitative research. The decision to use the qualitative research method is based on the nature of the research questions as well as seeking to understand the broad experiences, perceptions, and key challenges that are faced by young people for suitable and better conditions.

Quantitative research would not be suitable for this study because it is focused on statistical data, as compared to a deep understanding of the experiences of the individuals. Qualitative research allows to develop the comprehensive services and the exploration of an issue.

The qualitative research allows me to evaluate the complex and critical emotional and social forces that influence young people to seek help and enrich the mental health system.

2.3.Justification for Using Qualitative Research:

The key justification for using qualitative research lies in the ability to capture the depth of the entire personal experience. Young people have struggled to access mental health services and can share specific and valuable stories about the complexities as face. The long waiting times or feelings must be understood by the healthcare providers through capturing the change, leading the success, and organizing the detailed successful areas.

Qualitative research allows for higher flexibility in the data collection process during certain interviews and asking open-ended questions with effective interviews through a dynamic approach. It enables a deeper exploration of issues with immediately apparent and structured forms.

Task 3: Data Collection:

3.1 Primary Data vs Secondary Data:

Primary data refers to the collection directly from the original terms through methods like interviews, experiments, surveys through the clear observations. Primary data is considered highly reliable because it is specific to the research questions and collects real-time feedback. On the other hand, secondary sources or data refer to the sources that have already been taken by other researchers or companies because it is valuable to reach the operations.

The secondary data can provide valuable and effective information with a useful context for the research as building a helpful activity. The research always directly answers the specific research questions on the utilization of resources, leading the plans, and reaching the final destinations.

3.2 Types of Data This Research:

This study is about the evaluation of mental health services for adolescents and young adults, so I will primarily focus on the primary data collection through the qualitative methods through the destructed interviews and the focus group. The data collection methods will allow me to gain higher rights and lead the detailed accounts of the system,

I will conduct one-on-one interviews with the young people who used the mental health services and the mental health professionals working with the young adults. This will offer detailed accounts of personal experiences with the mental health care system and allow us to lead the operations.

The focus groups will be conducted to evaluate the impact of mental health on young people, to explore the collective experiences, and to discuss the effects of common barriers in trying to access mental health. The entire discussion will allow participants to share their thoughts in a group setting and lead to new insights through the interactions of others.

The main reason for choosing the primary as it offers first-hand, relevant information directly from the people who are affected by the challenges being studied. Direct input is critical in the understanding of complex and real-life challenges faced by young people in their broad professions in mental health.

3.3.Finding the credible sources:

I will use secondary sources and data from credible sources that relate to academic articles, government reports, and key publications from mental health companies. I will prefer academic databases like PubMed, Google Scholar, and the JSTOR through leading the mental health serviceman indicate the higher operations. The research will provide reliable and increased activities to meet the objectives and determine the successful criteria.

The report has outlined the identification of the critical problems of research can the health or social care sector. I will select the most prominent studies to contribute to the understanding of mental health services available to young people.

The research addresses the types of data and will be used through gathering secondary and credible sources. I aim to contribute valuable insights toward mental health services and improve the meeting of the needs of the young people. The report has also discussed the selected research method that allows the operations and lead the better outcomes.
